3. Foot Joint Mobilization Therapy
A specialized modality used by Allied Health practitioners for decades to treat painful feet. Founded on the principles of Dr. Harvey Lampell, Foot Joint Mobilization helps the body correct itself structurally. For example, correcting foot alignment and reducing bunions can alleviate stress on the knees and hips, preventing alignment-related arthritis.
Because the body works as an interconnected system, the balancing effects of foot manipulation extend far beyond the feet and ankles—providing profound relief for chronic back pain, neck stiffness, and sciatic pain. Just as your car benefits from regular wheel alignment, your body thrives with regular structural attention.
How It Works: The Science of Touch
Healing through touch has the power to profoundly affect the body, mind, emotion, and spirit. Therapeutic Reflexology is a non-invasive science based on the principle that the feet, hands, ears, and face represent a microcosm of the entire body.
By applying specific finger and thumb pressure techniques to these reflex areas, we stimulate the Central Nervous System (CNS). This triggers the brain to release endorphins, which naturally lower stress, ease tension, and improve blood and nerve circulation. Ultimately, this shifts the body out of a state of chronic stress and into homeostasis (natural balance), allowing the body to facilitate its own innate healing process.
Because every individual is unique, your therapist can incorporate multiple zones—such as the feet, face, ears, or hands—into a single session tailored precisely to your specific health goals.

Conditions We Support
Extensive clinical case studies show that Therapeutic Reflexology is highly effective in supporting management of:
  • Stress-related conditions, anxiety and depression
  • Bowel and digestive disorders
  • Sinus problems and respiratory congestion
  • Sleep disorders and insomnia
  • Infertility and hormonal imbalances
  • Post-operative recovery and pain management
Oncology Support: Cancer patients frequently experience a significant reduction in the uncomfortable side effects of chemotherapy when integrating reflexology into their care plan. While reflexology cannot cure terminal diseases like cancer or multiple sclerosis, it can dramatically improve quality of life by easing pain, activating excretory organs, and improving bladder and bowel control.
Patient Guidelines & Contraindications
While reflexology is incredibly beneficial for all ages, certain medical conditions require specialized caution. Please inform your therapist if you experience any of the following:
  • Thrombosis, phlebitis, or internal bleeding (as increased circulation may be contraindicated)
  • Insulin-dependent diabetes (as pancreatic stimulation can alter insulin requirements)
  • Pregnancy (particularly during the first trimester)
  • Lymphatic cancer, leukemia, osteoporosis, or epilepsy
Professional Scope of Practice: Registered Therapeutic Reflexologists may treat or provide supportive care for diagnosed conditions, encourage healthy lifestyle adjustments, or recommend professional medical referrals. However, reflexologists do not medically diagnose diseases, prescribe medication, or interfere with existing medical prescriptions.
